SHOP, SEARCH and SUPPORT SDP

Please share this  with others, so they can participate, too.

GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

SDP has signed up with three web-sites that help raise funds-painlessly.

Next time you shop or search online, visit these websites first.

goodsearch.com is a search engine with a unique social mission.  It’s powered by Yahoo!, so you can get great search results, and each time you search, GoodSearch makes a donation to SDP.

goodshop.com is an online marketplace that donates a percentage of your purchase to SDP. You can choose from hundreds of popular merchants and the experience of shopping through GoodShop is exactly the same as going to the retailer’s websites directly.

shopformuseums.com seeks to be the primary source of online fundraising for museums and related organizations.  They do this by providing the opportunity for people to generate donations for their organizations of choice whenever they shop online.   We all love to shop online, and ShopforMuseums.com allows you to support SDP while you shop, without any additional cost to you whatsoever! Here’s how it works:

Go to www.shopformuseums.com. Register and select SDP as your Museum Partner. Then choose stores and shop. It’s that easy!  The stores you access through this website have agreed to donate a percentage of your purchase to SDP. You are not charged in any way for the donation, it happens automatically when you access the retailer’s website through www.shopformuseums.com. You can even use online coupons and codes.

Why not register now at www.shopformuseums.com? It’s a great time to take advantage of all the big sales at your favorite stores and support SDP at the same time!

2009 SDP/Smithsonian Ornament Project

www.decorativepainters.org - SDP Website for information

You are invited to join us as the Society of Decorative Painters helps the Smithsonian Institute/Museum of Art – Renwick Gallery decorate its annual Christmas Tree.  Ornament Packets will include detailed instructions and more information regarding the selection of paintings that Artists must draw from.

Artists may use the medium of their choice provided they use the wood ornament provided in the packet. Artists must be a member of the Society of Decorative Painters. Ornaments will be distributed on a first come-first serve basis with one ornament per artist.  The ornaments are wood rectangles about 3" x 5" from Walnut Hollow.

Any country many participate.  Ornaments will be juried by the Smithsonian to insure compliance with their  requirements.

The remaining ornaments will be on display at SDP Headquarters in  Wichita, KS.

The object of the project is to create present-day decorative art reinterpretations of the paintings featured in the Renwick Gallery's Grand Salon.  If you would like to view the seventy works in the Renwick Gallery, visit   http://www.flickr.com/photos/americanartmuseum/sets/72157618150411546/
